The Area Hardcore Scene Remembers a Fan and Friend

If your musical tastes run toward the brash and aggressive side of the rock spectrum, two different shows and taking place this weekend to remember a fallen fan and friend of the area's hardcore scene.
Michael Hicks, a fan who supported hardcore shows from Altoona to Clearfield and beyond, passed away unexpectedly on April 14, leaving behind a wife and two children. He was 26. The two benefit shows in his memory; Friday night, June 1 at Aldo's in Juniata, and all day Saturday at the Clearfield Fairgrounds Community Building, will raise money for Michael's surviving family to purchase a headstone.
The Aldo's benefit will begin Friday night at 10 PM, and will feature performances from the bands Vengence, Not Without Resistance, Chapter 5, Suicide Switch and Choking Faith. Admission at the door will be $5 donation. The show is for 21-and-over fans.
Saturday's benefit in Clearfield will start at 5 PM, and will feature the bands Wisdom In Chains, Not Without Resistance, Enough Said, Vengence, Deliberate Intent, plus a number of special guests. Admission to this all-ages show is a $7 donation.
Special T-shirts will be available for purchase at both benefits.
