It’s a WYNNE-WIN for PSU!

August 2, 2007 - Amy Jo Hanna-Eckenrode

WYNNEWon’t you join me in officially welcoming Penn State's newest officer. Whew-wee! And, is he a looker!

Wynne, a 2-year-old yellow Labrador retriever, will be on patrol at all major Penn State events, including football games, along with human Officer Matt White, his handler, partner and roommate.

Wynne is finishing his last week of training on campus before officially becoming an officer with University Park's police department. He is a Pennsylvania State Police Canine Unit graduate, trained to sniff out firearms and explosives.

After undergoing extensive testing, including physical agility, Matt was chosen by his department to handle Wynne. I'd say that is quite an honor.
