Hope for PSU hoopsters
December 4, 2008 - Neil Rudel
Penn State's win at Georgia Tech Wednesday night marks one of the better road victories of Ed DeChellis' six-year tenure.
The Nittany Lions don't get on national TV much so they should be able to get some local and national mileage out of their performance.
Guards Stanley Pringle and Talor Battle were particularly impressive.
Penn State improved to 7-1 with this win in the Big Ten-ACC Challenge -- the most notable of the typically soft-non conference schedule DeChellis has once again assembled.
Still, it provides some hope, and after a largely disappointing succession to Jerry Dunn, DeChellis can use hope.
Temple comes in Saturday for a 6 p.m. tipoff, and the Owls, though not as formidable as they were under John Chaney, are the toughest remaining challenge until the Big Ten schedule begins on Dec. 31 vs. Northwestern.
