August 12, 2009 - John Mehno

Righthanded reliever John Lamb made his major league debut on Aug. 12, 1970, joining a Pirates staff that included Bob Veale and Bob Moose.

In 47 career games over three seasons, Lamb was 0-2 with a 4.07 earned run average.

Lamb and Moose appeared in the same game seven times. There were five games when Lamb and Veale both pitched.

But the Pirates never had a game with Lamb, Moose and Veale.

(Further trivia note: Lamb is Steve Blass' brother in law).
