What a weekend
November 13, 2009 - John Mehno
Has it ever been this good in the nine football seasons played at Heinz Field?
Notre Dame visits to take on Pitt at 8 o'clock on Saturday night. Then the maintenance crew will work all night to sweep up and get ready for the Cincinnati Bengals and Steelers at 1 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. You wouldn't expect a midseason visit from the Bengals to have playoff implications for both teams, but this does.
I can't help you with tickets to either, but I can offer this advice: Hustle over to Sheetz, load up on snacks and drinks, and get a comfortable seat in front of the TV. Should be two really good football games in less than 24 hours, coincidentally from the same venue.
The good news is there's no rain in the forecast so the Heinz Field turf, which is starting to show its November tatters, should be OK for both games. I like the home team in both games, but I don't recommend you invest in that.
