The iconic coach clearly is slowing down, so his future and the future of the Nittany Lion program will be a major focus throughout the season.

I'm in the camp that says Paterno can coach as long as he wants. He has earned that right, and no one can tell him when he should retire.

However, if the time comes when his health prevents him from being able to adequately do the job, hopefully someone close to him will be able to level with him and get him to do what's best for PSU and the program.

His wife, Sue, would seem to be the best choice for that because he probably won't listen to anyone else.
