Hi again, Friends

August 31, 2010 - John Mehno

Lanny Frattare, who left the Pirates broadcast booth after the 2008 season, is returning to sports broadcasting.

Mike White reported on the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette website: "Lanny Frattare, the former play-by-play announcer for the Pittsburgh Pirates, will be announcing WPIAL football games this season. Frattare will do play-by-play for MSA Sports Network. MSA's games can be heard on numerous radio stations and also on the internet."

Frattare, 62, is on the faculty at Waynesburg University and his voice has been heard on their radio commercials

He turned down the Pirates' offer of a formal ceremony to mark the end of his 33-year association with the ball club and has kept a low profile since leaving baseball..
