December 6, 2010 - John Mehno
The Steelers ought to petition the NFL for a bye week after every game against the Baltimore Ravens. They need the extra time to recover.
The TV pictures of Ben Roethlisberger's nose going wide left were graphic. But the win was costly in other ways. The Steelers are in the market for a new punter after Daniel Sepulveda wrecked his knee, and Flozell Adams, one of the last men standing on a patchwork offensive line, had a high ankle sprain. The top two tight ends, Heath Miller and Matt Spaeth, are recovering from concussions.
The Steelers have four games left. Three are at home, and three are against opponents with losing records. That looks like a friendly path to the postseason, but you wonder if they'll have enough players healthy to take advantage of those circumstances.
