Paul Jones' high school coach expects him to remain at PSU
June 7, 2011 - Cory Giger
A source close to Paul Jones said Tuesday night that he expects the quarterback to remain at Penn State.
Jones' high school coach at Sto-Rox, Jason Ruscitto, said the quarterback is "heading back up there on the 26th [for summer workouts], so I assume that he is coming back."
Jones said after the Blue-White Game that he had no intentions of leaving PSU.
"I'm here at Penn State," he said at the time. "I signed a letter of intent. I'm here ready to play."
Despite those words, speculation has persisted that Jones may decide to leave if Rob Bolden remains at Penn State. Bolden told the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette a few days ago that he still hasn't decided on his future.
Jones enrolled early at Penn State in January of 2010, but it was Bolden who won the starting job as a freshman to begin last season.
"I don't think he's frustrated," Ruscitto said. "I think he's waiting for an opportunity, and he knows that. That's why he's putting his time in. ... I think he probably will be with Penn State in the future."
