We mourn the loss of

Kathryn Miller, a woman of quiet courage and uncommon grace. She welcomed Arts Center visitors for fifteen years, dispensing smiles and tidbits of local history. She was dearly loved and she will be sorely missed. FREE STUDIO

Bring your lunch and your art supplies and come paint with Bob Corrigan and friends 11am-2pm Thursdays. There's no charge but we'd like a head count so please let us know if your head will be one of them.

Dr. Theodor Seuss Geisel would be blowing out 108 birthday candles March 2. If he hadn't died in 1991, he would doubtless have still been concocting stories of wonderfully wise and whimsical critters.

If you've not explored his world in awhile, go get one of his books and read it to a kid. Any kid. Age is no object.

CLASSICAL FILM CLUB

The newly formed club will screen Shakespeare's

Henry V at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 15in the Arts Center.

The film begins as a recreation of a stage production of the play in the Globe Theatre, and gradually turns into a stylized cinematic rendition with sets reminiscent of a medieval Book of Hours. .... At the end, the setting reverts to the Globe and the audience applauding. (This description was pretty much plagiarized from Wikipedia.)

Sir Laurence Olivier won an Oscar for producing, directing and starring in the film, which was made during World War II to boost the morale of the beleaguered British population.

Space is limited, so please call the Arts Center to reserve some for yourself. Feel free to BYO food and drink. PHOTO CONTEST

Photograph some of your favorite Bedford County sites and sights for October's Homewood at Springhouse Estates anniversary celebration. Color or B&W, 11x17 max. Those selected will be exhibited throughout the community center for the following year.

Classes run 1-2:30 p.m. and are most appealing to 7-to-12 year-olds. There is no charge but space is limited so advance registration is required.

Be the first kid on your block to enter the first such show on our own block of recycled, upcycled, repurposed trash.

Entries will be accepted Tuesday-Friday, March 27-30 Artists may submit as many entries as they like-available space will determine how many are displayed Entries must not be too big for the door or too heavy for the floor If on-site assembly is required, the artist must come with his little toolbox during the installation Saturday, March 31. (Ask our friendly staff what time.)
