Around Bedford County and More
May 3, 2012 - Emily Dimov-Gottshall
~ BENIGNI & RIDET ~
A synergistic combination of watercolor landscapes by Barbara Benigni and handcrafted jewelry by Monique Ridet will be on exhibit May 2-26.
Ms. Benigni received a degree in Art Education from Edinboro University and taught in the Bedford Area School District for over thirty years. Her watercolors showcase her appreciation of the beauty in nature through her skillful blending of patterns, textures and, most importantly, color.
Ms. Ridet, born and educated in France, worked in New York City and Washington DC before moving to the Bedford area in 2005. Her interest in ancient history and civilizations and her extensive travels have been a major influence in her work. Designs include one-of-a-kind beads that she creates together with semi-precious stones, antique or vintage beads, and an eclectic display of other elements.
The public is invited to meet the artists at a reception 6-9 p.m. Saturday, May 5.
