The Blair County Arts Foundation's theme for this year's auction at the Arts Festival is Mirrors. Artists are asked to paint any theme onto a mirror which will be used to auction off in support of the Arts Foundation. Some mirrors are available at the Blair County Arts Foundation for you use, or you can donate and paint one for this project. It's a great way to promote your artwork and it will help to promote the Arts Foundation. Please jump on board with this project. Auction will take place at the Artist's Reception May 15th. Workshop Philosophy All of our workshops provide you with the opportunity to create your own vision while working in a small group with individual attention. We will be teaching and discussing: maximizing the potential of your camera, exposure, image design and composition, including how HDR can enhance your landscape photography as well as B&W photography . Instant feedback during the daily shoots so you will have the opportunity to improve your photographs on the spot. We generally have two instructors and a mximum of 6 people per instructor. All travel, lodging and meals are the responsibility of the workshop participant.

April 6-7, 2013 Lonaconing Silk Mill, Lonaconing, MD We will be photographing the three floors of the Lonaconing Silk Mill. April 20-21, 2013 June 1-2, 2013 October 19-20, 2013 Rivers of Steel: Photographing the Industrial Heritage of Pittsburgh We will be visiting the Carrie Furnace in Rankin which began operation in 1900 and ceased production in 1978. Owned by Andrew Carnegie it later became part of the vast US Steel company. We will also be visiting the Duquesne Incline and WA Young & Sons Machine Shop & Foundry in Rices Landing. The W.A. June 1-2, 2013 JW Cooper High School, Shenandoah, PA We will be photographing and exploring the three floors of the JW Cooper High School in Shenandoah, PA. Entries will be accepted Friday-Monday, March 29-April 1. 2D cannot be more than 48" on a side and 3D must not be too big for the door or too heavy for the floor. There is no limit on the number of entries; available space will determine the number installed.
