May 31, 2013 - John Mehno
There have been some great stories at PNC Park this week, and absolutely nothing at Consol Energy Center.
This eight-day gap between playoff hockey series has been brutal for the media, which has felt a need to generate the usual amount of product even though there haven't been games. If you think the week before the Super Bowl is a celebration of nothingness, this has it topped.
The long gap is driven by TV. The Penguins and Boston Bruins will finally get on the ice Saturday evening. The best part of that is there will actually be something to write and talk about. It can't arrive too soon.
