2009 schedule good for Curve
The Curve will have one of their most fan-friendly home schedules ever next season. Fans will not get to see much of the team early on as Altoona will play just seven games at Blair County Ballpark in April. That’s a good thing for the franchise, though, since the colder temperatures and rain generally prevent people from coming out in droves. This season, the Curve were saddled with 16 home games in April. Instead of miserable April weather, the schedule includes more games in the summer. The Curve will be home for 13 games in June, 19 in July and 11 in August. Altoona will open the season April 8 and be on the road the first week, playing four games at Erie and three at Akron. The opener at Blair County Ballpark will be against Erie on April 16, the latest home opener in franchise history. The Curve also will be home on the Fourth of July. They’ll close the season on the road at Binghamton, wrapping up Sept. 7. Ticket prices will remain the same in 2009.
