New Everett coach hopes to rebuild
Like many small high school wrestling programs around the state of Pennsylvania, Everett has suffered from a recent numbers crunch. Josh Deputy, who was recently named the Warriors’ new head coach, hopes to address that problem first and foremost when he begins his new duties next November. “I’d like to start in the elementary and junior high [levels] and build the numbers,’’ Deputy said. “With [increased] numbers, success will come. I think the kids are there. We just have to build the excitement [about the wrestling program] up.’’ Deputy, who replaces long-time Everett coach Jim Droz, has been an assistant coach at Bedford High School for the past seven seasons. Deputy, 25, is employed as a computer technician at Bedford High. Efforts by the Mirror to reach Everett athletic director Brian Koontz were unsuccessful.
