Once in awhile, it’s entertaining
PITTSBURGH — The worst thing about baseball is there are 162 games in the regular season. That’s also the best thing about baseball. You can have a team that’s hopelessly out of the pennant race (hello, Pirates) and still see a good, entertaining game. Case in point was Monday’s mammoth comeback against the Astros in Houston. The Pirates scored seven runs in the ninth inning with three home runs. The last was an inside-the-park homer by Freddy Sanchez. Unlikely? You bet. The Pirates were reeling from four straight losses in Colorado when the offense was suddenly as bad as the starting pitching has been. In a perfect world, you have a contending team that plays entertaining games when you’re watching. But the fact is even a bad team will win 60 games over the course of a season. This isn’t college football, where it’s an easy task to go 1-10 or 2-9. The Pirates had another miracle comeback against the Astros in 2001, the first season at PNC Park.

There’s no question he wasn’t pitching well. The numbers back that up.
Rooneys not all unified with interests
PITTSBURGH — Do not dismiss the reports of turmoil among the Steelers ownership.
This has all been fairly simple for the last 75 years:

The Rooneys.
Capps may have been overused
PITTSBURGH — Matt Capps is a big bear of a man who appears to be indestructible.
Maybe that’s why he’s currently on the disabled list.
