Christian Kuntz, a 6-foot-3, 195-pound wide receiver from Trinity High School in Camp Hill, became Penn State's 15th football recruit for its 2009 recruiting class when he committed to the Nittany Lions over UConn on Friday.
Playing halfback in the Shamrocks' Wing-T offense, Kuntz ran for 789 yards, caught 18 passes for 350 yards and intercepted seven passes as Trinity went 12-1 in 2007. Kuntz led the team in receiving, scoring (17 touchdowns) and interceptions and finished second in rushing.
He was also the runner-up in the Class AA 110-meter hurdles at the PIAA Track and Field Championships, clocking a time of 14.82 seconds.
Kuntz also had scholarship offers from Akron and Buffalo. Notre Dame showed interest but hadn't offered a scholarship at the time Kuntz committed.
