Christian stars come to BJC

UNIVERSITY PARK - DC Concerts will bring the Winter Wonder Slam Tour to the Bryce Jordan Center at 7 p.m. Nov. 19. The Winter Wonder Slam brings some of the biggest names in Christian music to the stage.

The show will feature Toby Mac, a founding member of the legendary group dc Talk and a successful solo artist, as well as Relient K, B. Reith and Stephanie Smith.

Tickets will be $23.50, $31 and $50, with a special price of $20.50 for groups of 10 or more, and go on sale at noon today at the Bryce Jordan Center Box Office, Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State Tickets Downtown, Penn State Altoona Campus, online at www.bjc.psu.edu or charge-by-phone at 865-5555.

Event features show tunes

TYRONE - The "dessert theatre" "Remember Broadway," an evening of Broadway show tunes, will be presented by Faces & Places Ministries at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 15 and Aug. 16 at St. Matthew's Harkins Hall, at 12th Street and Cameron Ave.

Attendees will enjoy a dessert, followed by musical numbers from such shows as "Annie," "The Sound of Music," "The Music Man" and "Oklahoma."

Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for kids ages 12 and younger and can be purchased by calling 932-4085 or by e-mailing tickets@ facesandplacesministries. org.

Playhouse shows 'Tenor'

JENNERSTOWN - The Mountain Playhouse in Jennerstown will continue its 70th anniversary season celebration with a Mountain Playhouse staple, Ken Ludwig's "Lend Me a Tenor." The show runs Sunday through Aug. 16.

The play will be performed at 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 9 and Aug. 16, at 8 p.m. Tuesday through Aug. 8 and Aug. 11 through Aug. 15 and at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, Aug. 12 and Aug. 14.

The farcical play is about a famous opera singer whose big performance is thrown for a loop by a series of misunderstandings.

Tickets are $15 to $28 for matinees and $20 and $32 for evening shows. Tickets can be purchased by calling 629-9201 or online at www.mountainplayhouse. org.

Keith, Adkins head to area

BURGETTSTOWN - Toby Keith will bring the "America's Toughest Tour," with special guest Trace Adkins, to the Post-Gazette Pavilion at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 11.

Tickets for the concert will be $25 for lawn seats and $39 and $65 for reserved seats. Specially priced "Hellraiser" seats will be available for $15.25. Tickets go on sale at 10 a.m. Monday.
