Auditions held for 'Trial'

EBENSBURG - Cresson Lake Playhouse will hold auditions for the upcoming production "The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge" at 6 p.m. Oct. 13 at the Ogle Street Rehearsal Hall located at 526 W. Ogle St.

"The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge" is a comedy by Mark Brown and is under the direction of CLP's Artistic Director Jim Pollino.

All roles are available. Scripts are available at the Ogle Street office.

"The Trial of Ebenezer Scrooge" will be performed at 8 p.m. Dec. 4 and 5 and at 2 p.m. Dec. 5 and 6 at

the Cambria County Courthouse, Courtroom A, 200 S. Center St., Ebensburg.

Tickets will be $12 for adults and $5 for children under age 12.

Wine event held Oct. 11

UNIVERSITY PARK - The inaugural WPSU Wine Celebration will be held starting at 1 p.m. Oct. 11 at the Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel.

This benefit for Penn State Public Broadcasting offers guests a chance to sample wines from around the world. The wine tasting will be held from 1 to 4 p.m., a silent auction will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. and a live auction will be held from 4 to 5 p.m.

The tasting will feature more than 100 different wines.

Tickets are $55 in advance and $65 at the door.

Each ticket holder will be receive a keepsake wine glass to be used for the sampling.

Musicians join for concert

UNIVERSITY PARK - Jazz musician Stefon Harris will join the classical quintet Imani Winds in a performance at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 30 in Penn State's Schwab Auditorium.

Tickets are $36 for adults, $15 for University Park students and $29 for people ages 18 and younger. BCP auditions for 'Pageant'

BEDFORD - Auditions for the Bedford County Players 'Christmas show, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," will be held at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 27-28 at Gardner Memorial Theater.

Needed for the cast are four men, six women, eight boys and nine girls.

Performance honors Hines

UNIVERSITY PARK - Emmy Award winner Jason Samuels Smith will lead eight other dancers in a performance that includes video montages, music and narrative to celebrate tap dance's history, artistry and rhythms in "Thank You, Gregory!" at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 2 in Penn State's Eisenhower Auditorium.

The show's title honors the late dancer and actor Gregory Hines.

Tickets are $36 for adults, $15 for University Park students and $26 for people ages 18 and younger.
