The Altoona Mirror will host a meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 8, at its offices, 301 Cayuga Ave., Altoona.
The meeting is for publicity chairmen, representatives of nonprofit clubs or groups or anyone who submits Community News. One representative from each group may attend.
How to submit Community News and photos will be explained to the group. Details will be given on how to use the Mirror's Virtual Newsroom to submit Community News through the Internet and e-mail, as well as the basics of how to write a press release. Also, Mirror staff members will meet briefly individually with those who make prior arrangements.
To register, call Brenda Carberry at 946-7459 by 2 p.m. Oct. 2. When registering, callers should provide the name of the person attending, the name of the nonprofit group they represent and a daytime contact number.
