Kids invited to audition
The auditions for Family Theatre at the Mishler's Missoula Children's Theatre production of "Jack and the Beanstalk" will be held at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 22 at the Mishler Theatre, Altoona.
There are roles for 50 to 60 students in kindergarten through 12th grade to appear in the show with the MCT Tour actor/director. Students wishing to audition must stay for the entire two-hour session. The first rehearsal begins approximately 15 to 30 minutes after the audition.
This is a group audition. No advance preparation is necessary.
Rehearsals will be conducted every day from 4 to 8:30 p.m. Those auditioning must have a clear schedule for the entire week and, if selected, be able to attend all rehearsals required for their role.
A detailed rehearsal schedule will be distributed at the conclusion of the audition.
Cast members scheduled for the full 4 hours of rehearsal will be asked to bring a sack lunch, dinner or snack.
The performances will be held in the Mishler Theatre at 3 and 7 p.m. Feb. 27. All those cast must be available for all scheduled performances.
ACT casting 'Producers'
Altoona Community Theatre will hold auditions for its upcoming production of the Mel Brooks musical "The Producers" at 7 p.m. Sunday and Monday in the Mishler Theatre, Altoona.
Kate Kale Wolf is directing, with Brett P. Keith serving as musical direct-or and orchestra conductor.
Auditionees are asked to prepare 16 to 32 bars of a Broadway song in a similar style to "The Producers" but not from the show itself. Bring music in the proper key for the accompanist. A brief dance sequence will be taught, and brief line readings from the script will be provided at the auditions.
Auditionees also should bring their calendars or schedules so they can complete a conflict sheet.
All roles are available.

'Jungle Book' to fill roles
EBENSBURG - Cresson Lake Playhouse will hold two separate auditions for "Disney's The Jungle Book" in March - from 3 to 4:30 p.m. March 18 at Penn Cambria High School, 401 Linden Ave., Cresson and from noon to 2 p.m. March 20 at the Cresson Lake Playhouse Rehearsal Hall, 526 W. Ogle St., Ebensburg.
The production, under the direction of Jim Pollino and Holly Smith, has openings for all roles, and no previous experience with CLP is necessary.
A cold reading will be provided from the script and dancers will be asked to dance.
Volunteers are also needed to work backstage on production crews.
"Disney's The Jungle Book" will run from May 6 through May 15.

Metal greats to play show
GREENSBURG - Megadeth will bring its Rust in Piece Tour, featuring Testament and Exodus, to the Palace Theatre at 7 p.m. March 12.
Megadeth will perform the entire "Rust In Peace" album, while Testament will perform the entire "Legacy" album.
