Clearfield reveals 2010 fair lineup

CLEARFIELD - In celebration of the Clearfield County Fair's 150th year, this year's event will feature a lineup of performers that includes The Beach Boys (Aug. 3), ZZ Top (Aug. 4), Poison frontman Bret Michaels (Aug. 6) and comic ventriloquist Jeff Dunham (Aug. 7).

Tickets for the Beach Boys will be $27 for reserved track seating and $25 for reserved grandstand/bleacher seating. Tickets for ZZ Top will be $54 for reserved track seating and $54 for reserved grandstand/bleacher seating. Tickets for Bret Michaels will be $34 for reserved track seating and $32 for reserved grandstand/bleacher seating. Tickets for Jeff Dunham will be $57 for reserved track seating and $55 for reserved grandstand/bleacher seating. A limited time special on advance concert ticket purchases includes gate admission with purchase.

The veteran blues band The Nighthawks will perform on March 19 at Pellegrine’s Lounge in Altoona. Felix and the Hurricanes will open the show at 8:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Seating is limited. An advance walk-around gate ticket will be available for $5 while supplies last. An advance ride/gate ticket will be available for $7, also while supplies last.

Variety show visits State Theatre

STATE COLLEGE - Out of Hand Variety Show will perform at 8 p.m. March 27 at The State Theatre.

Three national champions in their arts - three baton twirler PJ Maierhofer, freestyle footbagger David Clavens and magician Nathan Kepner - will join forces with fellow variety artists Joe Scholz, Mike Simon and Morgan Tsu-Raun in the performance.

Tickets are $10 for the general public and $5 for students. Tickets can be purchased at www.StateTickets.org, at the theater box office from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday or by calling 272-0606.

Ivers brings show to Eisenhower

UNIVERSITY PARK - Fiddler Eileen Ivers' "Beyond the Bog Road" - a multimedia concert of music, story, dance and film - will come to the Eisenhower Auditorium stage at 7:30 p.m. March 19. The show, featuring Ivers and her band, Immigrant Soul, celebrates the journey of Irish immigrants and the cross-pollination of cultures.

Tickets for the Center for the Performing Arts presentation are $35 for adults, $20 for University Park students and $24 for people ages 18 and younger.

Country legends on last tour

HERSHEY - The most successful duo in country music history, Brooks & Dunn, will bring their farewell tour, "The Last Rodeo," featuring opening act Gary Allan, to the area twice this summer.

First, the tour visits the Giant Center in Hershey on June 17 for a 7:30 p.m. concert. Tickets for that show are $20, $49.75 and $65 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday. Tickets will be available at www.livenation. com, HersheyEntertainment.com, GIANT Center Box Office or charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000.

The second appearance of the duo will be at 7:30 p.m. July 30 at First Niagara Pavilion in Burgettstown. Tickets for that show are $35.50, $55.50 and $65.50, with lawn tickets for $16.

Tickets for this concert will also go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday and will be available at www.livenation.com, the First Niagara Pavilion ticket office from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday only and charge-by-phone at 800-745-3000.

CAST prepares drama 'Frank'

CLEARFIELD - Tickets are on sale now for the first production of The Clearfield Arts Studio Theatre season, "The Diary of Anne Frank."

The drama will be presented at 7 p.m. March 18-20 and March 25-27 at the CAST Building, 112 E. Locust St.

Tickets are $8.50 each and may be reserved by calling the CAST office at 765-4474.
