Ag Progress Days Aug. 17-19

400 commercial exhibitors to display goods, services

STATE COLLEGE - The 2010 Penn State Ag Progress Days will take place Aug. 17 to 19, with more than 400 exhibitors expected to display goods and services.

There will be interactive educational exhibits, guided tours and workshops featuring agricultural research finds and extension programs.

Penn State faculty and extension staff will be available to answer questions and provide information on crop, dairy, livestock and equine production, conservation practices, pest management, farm safety, home gardening and lawn care.

There will be field machinery demonstrations and a new field sprayer technology showcase.

The event is held at the Russell E. Larson Agricultural Research Center at Rock Springs, nine miles southwest of State College on Route 45. Admission and parking are free, with a free shuttle bus service between the site and downtown State College available.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 17, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Aug. 18 and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 19.
