Piggy Bank Tales - This free preschool storytime program, held during March and April, introduces money skills for children and their parents. Storytime themes focus on earning, saving, spending and sharing. Sign up at the library or by e-mailing melanie.ramsey@gmail.com.
Little People Playgroup, sponsored by Mothers & More, will meet at 4 p.m. Wednesday. Mothers & More is a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of mothers through support, education and advocacy. For more information, visit www.mandmofcentralpa.com.
The Focus on Art! Playgroup with Miss Paula will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday and Friday. Preschoolers and their parents are welcome to participate in this free art project activity. Wear clothes appropriate for crafting. To register, call Paula at 932-4158.
A Cushion Concert with the Altoona Symphony will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday. Members of the Altoona Symphony's String section will perform. Participants can ask questions, meet the instrumentalists, see instruments up close and hear live music. Cameras are welcome. Children must be accompanied by an adult. A free craft session sponsored by the Family Resource Center will follow the musical performance. This program is free and open to all interested people. Good Books, Good Nights storytime will be presented by One Book Blair County at 6:30 p.m. March 16. This free program encourages consistent bedtimes and shared reading for young children and their families. Wear pajamas, bring a teddy bear, enjoy a craft and a snack and receive a free bedtime book. This program was made possible by the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Mid-Penn, along with the Local Interagency Coordinating Council of Blair County, Usborne Books and the Wolf-Kuhn Foundation. The Homeschool Science Fair will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. March 18. Local homeschoolers are invited to participate in this free science-themed activity time by presenting a two- to three-minute science experiment demonstration. Hands-on activities are welcome.
