UNIVERSITY PARK - Students at St. Matthew Catholic School in Tyrone recently visited Penn State for their Ag Literacy Day trip.
During the visit, the students made their own butter and ice cream, used ingredients to create a smoothie, went back in time to 150 years ago during a forestry adventure in the arboretum and ended the day with a tour of the Valentine Research Center.
Students also took part in half-day interactive workshops designed to introduce students to agriculture and how it impacts their lives on a daily basis.
