Violin virtuoso to perform

UNIVERSITY PARK - Israeli-born violinist virtuoso Guy Braunstein will join the Hamburg Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Johannes Brahms' Violin Concerto in D Major at 7:30 p.m. Jan. 19, in Penn State's Eisenhower Auditorium.

The orchestra is also scheduled to perform Ralph Vaughan Williams' overture from "The Wasps" and Antonin Dvorak's Symphony No. 7 in D minor.

Tickets for the Center for the Performing Arts presentation are $57 for adults, $24 for University Park students and $39 for those ages 18 and younger. Tickets can be purchased online at www.cpa.psu.edu, by calling 863-0255 or 800-ARTS-TIX or in person at Eisenhower Auditorium, Penn State Downtown Theatre Center, HUB-Robeson Center Information Desk and the Bryce Jordan Center.

The Eisenhower, Penn State Downtown Theatre Center and BJC ticket offices are closed through Jan. 2. The HUB ticket outlet is closed until Jan. 9.
