Chester Leonard 'Lenny' Gault

Chester Leonard "Lenny" Gault, 68, of 210 Second St., Belleville, formerly of Altoona, died Saturday at Ohesson Manor Nursing Home, Lewistown.

He was born in Blandburg, son of the late Clyde Gault and Margaret (Burley) Gault Burkett. He married Mary Ann Hinton on July 9, 1960.

Surviving are his wife; three children: Shelley A. Monahan of Harrisburg, Douglas L. of Altoona and Deborah L. of Elkton, Md.; Nancy S. Stayer, who was like a daughter; three grandchildren: Breanne Monahan, Kristin Monahan and Zachary Lee Maher; a great-grandson, Brian J. Funk; and a brother, Ronald and wife, Doris, of Cleveland.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James J. "Jimmy;" and a sister, Barbara Jean Hollen.

Lenny was a world-renowned singer and was a recording artist in Nashville, Tenn., and Altoona, and he received the Golden Spike Award for his appearance with the Altoona Symphony Orchestra. He was the pastor of Blandburg Brethren in Christ Church for 10 years, retiring in 1990.

Friends will be received from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2012, at Allensville Mennonite Church, 1156 Route 655, Belleville, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m., the Rev. Dwayne Issac officiating. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Lenny's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 342 S. Logan Blvd., Burnham, PA 17009.

Arrangements are by Hoenstine Funeral Home, 75 Logan St., Lewistown.
