The Holliday Dance/One Good Turn competition season is complete, proving to be the teams' best year yet. The team traveled to Lancaster in early March for the Dance Educators of America Regional Competition, where they won eight titanium medals, 17 platinum medals and 17 gold medals.

Three group dances came home with the titanium medal: the jazz dance "Tainted Love,'' choreographed by Marissa Carney; senior tap's "Dancin' Fool'' and senior production "Water for Elephants,'' both choreographed by Diana McGough.

"Water for Elephants'' received the top score for the entire competition, a 299.5 out of 300 points, earning an Outstanding Choreography award for McGough.

Soloists Danielle Heininger, Taylor Price and Isaac Ray, as well as a duo by Taylor Price and Abby Shaffer, were also awarded titanium medals.

All placed in the top three of their individual categories, and Heininger brought home the top solo/duo/trio score for the entire competition.

The Holliday Dance/One Good Turn Competition Team also received eight Special Judges Awards. In late March, the team traveled to Pittsburgh for another Dance Educators competition.

"Tainted Love'' and the modern dance "Drumming Song,'' both choreographed by Carney, were awarded titanium medals. The team also brought home nine platinum, 27 gold and four silver medals, along with two Special Judges Awards.

"Drumming Song'' placed first in the senior lines category and senior production "Water for Elephants'' took first in the 13 and older productions category. The community is invited to see these competition dances and much more at each studio's annual recitals, held at the Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School.

Holliday Dance will hold its recitals at 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday, while One Good Turn will perform at 6:30 p.m. May 25 and 26. Tickets can be purchased at the door.
