Hearing produces no trial date for Curley, Schultz

July 11, 2012
Mark Scolforo - The Associated Press

HARRISBURG- A judge has not yet set a trial date in the trial of two former Penn State officials charged with perjury and failing to report suspected child sexual abuse.

A defense lawyer for former university athletic director Timothy Curley says Dauphin County Judge Todd Hoover discussed scheduling issues during a 50-minute meeting Wednesday.

Lawyer Caroline Roberto says the judge plans to issue an order regarding future hearings.

Curley and former university vice president Gary Schultz are awaiting trial on charges they lied to a grand jury investigating former assistant football coach Jerry Sandusky, and didn't properly report suspected child abuse.

Sandusky is in prison, awaiting sentencing, after being convicted of dozens of abuse-related charges last month.
