Marjorie Vivian (Butterbaugh) Lynn, 89, formerly of Tyrone, died peacefully Tuesday at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview.
She was born in Tyrone, daughter of George and Elsie (Ermine) Butterbaugh. She married Robert S. "Cornie" Lynn on Dec. 18, 1944, in Tyrone, and he died July 25, 2003.
Surviving are two daughters: Jeanne A. Batcheler and husband, Craig, of Pittsburgh and Roberta F. of Tyrone; two sons: Gerald R. and wife, Carol, of Tyrone and Andrew D. and wife, Pamela, of Tyrone; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Gerald Butterbaugh of Wickliffe, Ky.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a twin sister, Mary Winifred, who died as an infant; two sisters: Elsie Gallagher and Jean McCahan; and a brother, George.
After graduating from Tyrone High School in 1940, Marjorie was a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co. She retired in 1985 from the Tyrone Police Department as a dispatcher after 15 years of service.
Marjorie was very creative with sewing and knitting but was most talented designing and making beautiful cakes for many customers and family members in the Tyrone area to celebrate their special occasions.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be at Eastlawn Cemetery. Arrangements are by Feller Memorial Home, Tyrone.
