LEADING OFF: There was an incident in one of the between inning games played at Peoples Natural Gas Field on Wednesday. During the "Build a Burger" contest, one of the participants tripped and hit her head off the ground. The participant was an unidentified girl, who was taken off the field on a backboard.
SAFE AT FIRST: Curve officials said the girl was taken to a hospital after doing some tests at the ballpark. It was reported the girl was "fine" and the backboard was used as a precaution. The incident happened between the third and fourth innings and caused an 11-minute delay in the game.
STEALING SECOND: RHP Tyler Waldron made his first start for the Curve Wednesday. Waldron had spent the season with High-A Bradenton and was 7-8 with a 5.09 ERA in 22 games before being promoted.
ROUNDING THIRD: Oscar Tejeda played his first game at second base for the Curve on Wednesday. Tejeda was primarily an infielder in his professional career before this season, but in 26 of his first 30 starts, he played left field for the Curve. Tejeda made a few nice plays at second on Wednesday, but did have a throwing error in the ninth inning.
HEADING HOME: The Curve did pick up a game in the chase for a playoff spot by beating Bowie on Wednesday. However, the Curve are still four games behind the second-place Baysox with 26 games remaining in the regular season.
