Betty V. "Duck" Fickes, 87, a resident of Pennknoll Village, Everett, formerly of Imler, passed away Tuesday at the Village.
She was born in Imler, daughter of the late John and Annie (Ebersole) Fickes.
Surviving are several generations of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters: Odessa, Marie, Virginia and Nell "Sis," with whom she resided until Sis' passing in 2008; and four brothers: Ralph, Frank, Samuel and Clarence.
Duck attended St. Mark's Reformed Church, King. She was a longtime employee of Guy Black's Turkey Farm and enjoyed gardening and bird-watching.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 17, 2012, Pastor James Neatrour officiating. Interment will be at St. Mark's Cemetery, King.
