Yolanda M. "Helen" Branda, 90, Altoona, passed away Sunday at Golden LivingCenter-Hillview, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Antonio and Rosa (Pellegrino) Raia. She married Dominick "Doc" Branda. He died Jan. 16, 1977.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Jane (Daniel) Fanelli of Altoona; a son, Anthony (Judy) Branda of Altoona; two grandchildren: Nicole (Scott) Yost and Anthony Branda II; two great-granddaughters: Macy and Laney Yost; a sister, Josephine (John) Cerro of Hollidaysburg; a brother, Victor (Bertie) Raia of Altoona; a sister-in-law, Christine Raia of Altoona; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters: Louise Bruno and Frances Daversa; and two brothers: Michael and Warren Raia.
Mrs. Branda retired from Doc's Steak House. She was a member of American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, A&J Iaia Post 827, and Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Helen enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-granddaughters, playing bingo and the card game, Take Four.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at Santella Funeral Home, where a vigil for the deceased will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2012, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church.
Committal will be at Calvary Mausoleum.
In memory of Helen, contributions may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Restoration Fund.
