James George Ermin Sr., 73, Jacksonville, Fla., passed away Monday at home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Wilber Hayes and Verna Mae (Black) Ermin.
Surviving are his wife, Vera Lee (Touchton); a daughter, Tammy Lee (Jim) Miller; a son, James G. Jr.; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and a sister, Joan Rimbeck.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford.
James proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, obtaining the rank of aviation structural mechanic, hydraulics, third class. Before retirement, he was a self-employed truck driver.
Friends will be received from 11 a.m. until the noon funeral service Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012, in the chapel of George H. Hewell and Son Funeral Homes, 4140 University Blvd., South Jacksonville, Fla., Bobby Touchton officiating.
