Jeremiah Paul "Jerry" Feathers, 46, Newry, died unexpectedly Tuesday morning at his home.

He was born in Altoona, son of Paul Jerry and Donita (Redinger) Feathers.

Surviving are his parents; his grandfather, Clifford Redinger; aunts and uncles: Clifford Redinger and wife, Judith, Gary Redinger and wife, Janet, John Redinger and wife, Earline, Deborah Wineland and Jim Kyle, Keith Redinger and wife, Mary, and Bruce Jones and wife, Rita; special cousins: Alan and Kim Redinger; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins.

Jerry was a 1984 graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps as a lance corporal and was the recipient of many awards and accolades for his distinguished military service. He was employed by Wohler Construction Inc. and had previously worked for Champion Home Builders and Durbin Construction.

Jerry was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and loved the outdoors. He will be missed by his favorite pets, Lilly and Tucker.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 2, 2012, at The Good Funeral Home Inc., Alto-Reste Park Cemetery. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at St. Patrick's Church, Newry, Monsignor Anthony B. Little officiating. Interment with military honors will be at Fairview Cemetery, Martinsburg.

Contributions to the Central Pennsylvania Humane Society in Jerry's memory would be appreciated.
