This is in response to a recent letter by Mark Bennett regarding the burning topic.
It's my opinion that burning should not be allowed within the city limits.
Bennett, I'm sure, is one of the very few people who follows the guidelines regarding burning. But for every Mr. Bennett, there is a higher percentage of burners who don't follow the guidelines.
I too, live approximately 200 yards from the city limits. But there are people who burn that don't follow the guidelines or just don't care where there smokes goes.
These people burn in the late hours of almost any day of the week, burn tree limbs, leaves and some junk.
Their smoke blows to the neighboring homes, ruining a lot of nice summer evenings.
There is also the risk of fires, and we really don't need to really take a chance on that.
One bad apple always spoils the basket.
I hope council just puts a ban on burning like they did before and put this stinking issue to rest.
