Viola G. Ferguson, 97, The Village at Morrisons Cove, formerly of Imler, went home to be with the Lord Wednesday.

She was born in Kimmel Township, daughter of the late Burdette and Della (Emeigh) Eicher. She married Clarence H. Ferguson on Dec. 25, 1935, in Altoona, and he passed away June 2, 1970.

Surviving are an adopted family of Ronnie and Karen Weyandt; a granddaughter, Eleanor Granville and husband, Lance; a grandson, Ronnie Weyandt Jr. and wife, Leslie; three great-grandsons: Lance and Preston Granville and Landon Weyandt; and other family members who loved her.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Verna Eller.

Viola was a member of Greenfield United Church of Christ. She was a homemaker and worked at the Claysburg Public Library. She was a hospital volunteer and enjoyed picnics, fishing and spending time with family and friends.

Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, at Leslie-Miller Funeral Home, Claysburg, followed by a funeral service at 8 p.m., Pastor Erik Lingenfelter officiating. Interment will be at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, Altoona.
