A per diem is a reimbursement for expenses that representatives receive to cover expenses like gas, tolls, hotel accommodations, the extra cost of being away and living in Harrisburg part of the week.
John McGinnis said that he will not take a per diem and throughout his tenure on the radio and his short candidacy has sought to demonize per diems, therefore I will not vote for him.
I mean, it's nice that he can afford to subsidize his travels out of his own pocket, but do we want to limit ourselves to having rich representatives who can afford to do that?
McGinnis (a public whiner for years) is a member of the rich boys club and must want to see all of the Legislature composed of only the rich if he is working to eliminate per diems. Vote for Richard Flarend.
