As the 79th District goes, so goes the rest of Blair County, which is why I'm endorsing the candidacy of Richard Flarend. Unfortunately, Flarend's opponent, John McGinnis, is a libertarian living in a 19th century individualistic world that sees little need for government, public education and the infrastructure that will allow this area to compete in the 21st century.
Fortunately, his opponent, Richard Flarend, realizes we are living in today's complex global economy. With multiple degrees in physics, he has the vision and expertise to understand the vital role the 79th can play in the jobs of the future, which includes founding his own solar energy company.
Unlike McGinnis, Flarend doesn't insist that we're all on our own, rather he will seek bipartisan cooperation and community involvement to reach common sense solutions that will promote this area and restore its proud heritage. Vote Flarend for our future.
