Doris Edna Dick, 95, died Friday evening at The Lutheran Home at Hollidaysburg.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Clair E. and Martha P. (Schweitzer) Hart. She married Melvin Eugene Dick on Aug. 29, 1940, in Altoona, and he preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 2003.
Surviving are a son, Melvin E. and wife, Lolly A., of York; and a granddaughter, Sarah L. of Philadelphia. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clair Edwin Hart.
Doris was a 1935 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1938 graduate of the Altoona Hospital School of Nursing. She retired as a private-duty registered nurse. She was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church, Altoona.
There will be no public viewing. A graveside funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Alto-Reste Park Cemetery, the Rev. Paula Schmitt officiating.
