Robert Legrand, 72, Houtzdale, died Thursday. He was born in Houtzdale, son of Peter J. and Clemence (Castiaux) Legrand. Surviving are his wife, Shirley (Young); four children: Rebecca Thompson and Catherine, Kelly and Louise Hockenberry; two brothers: Donald and Gene; and two sisters: Josephine Stiles and Julia Thomas. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Robin; and a brother-in-law, Glenn Truax. Friends will be received from noon until the 2 p.m. funeral service Monday, Nov. 5, 2012, at Birger A. Freeberg Funeral Home Inc., Houtzdale, the Rev. Mark Melhorn officiating. Interment will follow in the IOOF Cemetery, Brisbin.
