Josephine J. Mills, 78, Antis Township, died Wednesday at Altoona Regional.
She was born in Hollidaysburg, daughter of the late Doris A. and Mabel G. (Miller) Imler. She married Donald E. Mills on March 26, 1955, at Bellwood Church of the Brethren.
Surviving are her husband; a son, Donald A. and wife, Rhonda, of Antis Township; two daughters: Nancy J. Coho and husband, John, of Reston, Va., and Janet G. Mills of Antis Township; six grandchildren: Christina, Lauren, Travis, Samuel, Isaac and Stephanie; a great-grandson, Tyler; a sister, Marjorie Todd and husband, Joe, of Davenport, Fla.; and a brother-in-law, Jack Garman.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Imler; and two sisters: Kathryn Garman and M. Louise Garman.
Josephine was a member of Bellwood Church of the Brethren, where she served as deaconess, treasurer, church clerk, Sunday school teacher and secretary to the Bellwood-Antis council of churches. She was also a member of the Bellwood-Antis Lions Club and Bellwood-Antis Community Picnic Committee. She was active in the Bellwood-Antis Community Farm Show for many years and was a needlepoint judge for other community farm shows. She was an avid homemaker who enjoyed cooking, baking, sewing, knitting, tatting and vegetable and flower gardening.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today at Jon C. Russin Funeral Home, Bellwood, with a Lions memorial service at 5:45 p.m. Friends will also be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012, at the Bellwood Church of the Brethren, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Pastor Rod Thomas officiating. Interment will be at Antis Cemetery.
The family suggests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Northeast Pennsylvania Lions Eye Bank, 2346 Jacksonville Road, Bethlehem, PA 18017.
