Betty (Lenson) Katzner, 72, Washington, D.C., died Friday, due to complications after a ruptured aortic aneurysm.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Max and Hilda (Wolk) Lenson.
She is survived by her loving sister, Peggy Clark, and was devoted to her nieces and nephews: Susan Berndt, Jenny Kuhlmann, John Weil, Maggie Walker, David Katzner, Deborah Shepley and Daniel Katzner; and 12 grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Kenneth Katzner.
She spent an exciting career in media and international affairs, working at the United Nations as a radio producer, writer, interviewer and announcer. She also worked at NBC News on NBC-TV's "Meet the Press," the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace on the Face-to-Face program, Johns Hopkins School for Advanced International Studies as director for the U.S.-Soviet Cooperation Program and as an international affairs consultant to the East-West Forum, supported by the Samuel Bronfman Foundation.
She was a 1958 graduate of Altoona High School and a 1962 graduate of Long Island University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in comparative languages.
There will be no local visitation. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, at Danzansky-Goldberg Memorial Chapel in Rockville, Md. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to WETA-TV, the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies Scholarship Fund, the American Cancer Society or the Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of Greater Washington.
