Colmer’s free throws lift the Mount

WAYNESBURG - Lauryn Colmer of Hollidaysburg sank two free throws with just seven seconds left to lift the Mount Aloysius College women's basketball team past Waynesburg, 65-64, on Tuesday night.

Colmer finished with five points in 10 minutes.

Bishop Carroll graduate Lindsy Sammarco led the Mount with a game-high 27 points, while Becky Bard added 19. Brittany Spencer was Waynesburg's top scorer 23 points and also had 11 rebounds.

PSU Altoona loses

R.J. James scored 18 points and grabbed six rebounds to send the Frostburg State women past Penn State Altoona, 65-51, at the Adler Gym.

Brynn Arnone added 14 points for Frostburg, while Elaina Hummel added 10.

Kylie O'Toole led Penn State Altoona with 13 points and six rebounds, and Moira Corrigan had 11 points and 13 rebounds.

Mount men prevail

CRESSON - Jeff Stem had 14 points and five rebounds, leading the Mount Aloysius men's team past Penn State-New Kensington, 75-52.

Dameon Turner, Demetrius Davis and Tanner Thomas each added 10 points for the Mount.

Dom Strapac led PSU-New Kensington with 18 points, which came from six 3-pointers. Jordan Buchanich also added 14 points and seven rebounds for PSU.

Raymond leads Juniata

HUNTINGDON - Alex Raymond of Altoona had 16 points to lead the Juniata men past Washington & Jefferson, 64-53.

Brian Scholly added 13 points and seven rebounds for Juniata, while Kevin Stapleton (11) and Nate Higgins (10) each scored in double digits.

W&J was led by Zach Bellhy with 15 points and Nate Bellhy with 11 points and 12 rebounds.
