Patrick T. Courtot, 52, St. Mary Street, Loretto, died Monday on his deceased mother's birthday at Valley View Home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Ellen M. (Eckenrode) Strohmier.
Surviving are three brothers: Richard (Anita Fantini) of Altoona, Robert (Joanne Giblock) of Lilly and Donald of Cresson; two aunts; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Linda Kline of Loretto.

He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Robert Strohmier; a brother, Thomas; and a nephew, Kevin Courtot.
Pat was a graduate of Bishop Carroll High School, Ebensburg. He worked for Penn Metals, New Germany, for eight years and Industrial Service, Lancaster, for two years and retired after 18 years of service at Harrington Hoists Inc., Manheim.
Pat was a member of the Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, a former member of Loretto Volunteer Fire Company and a former social member of Loretto American Legion. He enjoyed basketball games at St. Francis University, NASCAR and college and professional football.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5, 2012, at Gibbons Funeral Home, Ashville, where a vigil service will be held. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at the Basilica of St. Michael, Loretto, the Rev. Malachi Van Tassel as celebrant. Committal will be in the church cemetery.
