This letter is in regards to the lack of leadership in our country relating to the fiscal cliff which America will be facing on Jan. 1.
Here it is now December, and the President and Congress have done nothing but to kick the problem down the road for another year. We don't know exactly what our final tax deductions or tax credits will be for 2012 and have no idea what the tax situation will be for 2013.
President Barack Obama should have Speaker of the House John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid at the White House not for a photo opt, but to stay night and day to work out an agreement and solve this major fiscal problem before it is too late.
But instead Obama chose to take a trip to Asia and fly across the world after reelection, rather than staying home and working with the congressional leadership to resolve our country's fiscal crisis.
There are plenty of examples in our country's history were the president and congressional leaders had very different ideological differences but were invited to the White House and stayed until they worked out an agreement for the betterment of all Americans.
I hope that President Obama and congressional leaders don't kick this fiscal crisis down the road again, but wake up and show true leadership for the future of our great nation.
