Former Altoona Area High School basketball coach John Swogger has died.
Swogger, who guided the Mountain Lions from 1968-80, brought a fast-breaking style and combined a record of 238-77 with nine District 6 championships.
He was stricken in his Riggles Gap area home on Christmas Day. He was 77 years old.
Swogger developed former San Antonio Spurs guard Johnny Moore, the first of four NBA players from Altoona between 1979-97.
