Marjorie R. Emerick, 89, Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, formerly of State College and Altoona, died Tuesday at Altoona Regional after a brief illness.
She was born in Altoona, daughter of the late Stephen E. and Ruth M. (Lockard) Rupe. She married Drew L. Emerick on Feb. 9, 1946.
Surviving are her husband; two brothers: Donald H. Rupe of Altoona and Dean E. Rupe and wife, Madeline, of Centre Hall; a sister-in-law, Naomi Rupe; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Rupe; and two sisters-in-law: Barbara Rupe and Beatrice McConahay.
Marjorie was a 1941 graduate of Altoona High School. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, State College, where she taught Sunday school for many years. She was also a member of the State College Christian Women's Club.
Marjorie enjoyed playing cards in her card club, painting and especially spending time with her family.
Friends will be received from 1 until the 2 p.m. funeral service today, Dec. 28, 2012, at Simpson-Temple United Parish, 2212 Sixth Ave., Altoona, by Pastor Larry H. Louder. Interment will be at Rose Hill Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Marjorie's memory to Presbyterian Village at Hollidaysburg, 220 Newry St., Hollidaysburg, PA 16648.
