Joseph F. "Ted" McGee, 75, Hollidaysburg, died Thursday at Altoona Regional.
He was born in Altoona, son of Frank W. and Ruth (Frederick) McGee. He married Elizabeth Neely on Sept. 16, 1961, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Hollidaysburg.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Robert Franklin (Kate) of Bellwood; two daughters: Janet Lorraine Calamita (Joseph) of Blandon and Julie E. Holowach (Mark) of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; and four grandchildren: Trevor McGee, Ethan McGee, Makayla Calamita and Hannah Holowach.
Ted was a 1955 graduate of Hollidaysburg High School. To compliment a successful high school athletic experience, he was inducted into Hollidaysburg's Athletic Hall of Fame several years ago. He was very proud to have retired in 2001 as a machinist from McLanahan Corp. after 41 dedicated years of service.
Ted was a member of First Baptist Church, Hollidaysburg, Moose Lodge 74 and Chimrock Squares and Round Dance Club and a life member of the Bavarian Aid Society. He enjoyed many activities, including dancing, camping and sports, and attending his grandchildren's many events.
Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 30, 2012, at Plank, Stitt & Stevens Funeral Home, 421 Montgomery St., Hollidaysburg, where a funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, by Pastor Cory Hartman. Interment will be at Greenlawn Cemetery, Hollidaysburg.
