Jesse Tyler McElhinney, 16, Altoona, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Wednesday.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Kenneth Sr. and Rhonda (Berkheimer) McElhinney.
Surviving are his older brother, Kenneth "Matt" McElhinney Jr. and girlfriend, McKenzie Lascoli; his grandparents, Dean and Beverly Sprankle, by whom he was raised; his grandfather, James Berkheimer and the Berkheimer family; two uncles: Jimmy Berkheimer and wife, Desire, and Shaun Berkheimer and companion, Lori; two aunts: Mary Ann Lattieri and Fran Clatterbuck; a stepuncle, Billy McDowell; and plenty of cousins.

Jesse was a junior at Altoona Area High School, where he held high honors. He was an active member of the Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, where he was active in the youth group. He loved to play baseball and hang out with his friends and family. He wanted to be a math teacher and a mechanic when he was finished with his schooling.
Jesse will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his dog, Zeba.
Friends will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012, at Pleasant Valley Assembly of God Church, 801 Pleasant Valley Blvd., Altoona, followed by a funeral service at 7 p.m., Pastor Jim Balzano officiating. Interment will be made at Logan Valley Cemetery, Bellwood.
